Discussion on Islam and Capitalism

By Saidiman & Malja Abror

Rodinson observed that Islam developed from a traditional capitalist society. History recorded that Islam expanded across the world using the vehicle of capitalism and trade. That is why the Islamic expansion was 300 years slower than the expansion of Muslim sultanate’s political power. This argument rejects the thesis saying that Islam is propagated by sword and blood.

I posted this a while back but didn’t get an answer. I found this site and thought it is nice, a place of liberal ideas where I could get some answers. So I’m hoping i could get some answeres to this:

“The reason I’m asking is because many non Muslims say Islam is evil and quote verses from the Quran that command to fight and kill and that are antisemitic. This for me has always seemed like shallow analysis of the religion.
From what little I know of Judaism, I know there are 4 stages of knowing the religion and understanding the Tanach: Pshat - face value; Drash - interpretation of what is said; Remez - understanding hints and clues (reading “between the lines"); and Sod - secret (ie Kabala and Zohar). To master all of these and fully understand the religion you need to study for years upon years, and some of the things can only be learned by certain people at certain ages. Most only know the religion at face value and in interpretations.
I assume the Quran is similar in that there are several levels in which to take the words. The problem is I’ve never read the Quran and I don’t even know the basics.
So in general, (I know these are tough questions that would probably take years explaining but I would like a shallow explanation as possible or a reference or even just a small example), I would like to ask:
What exactly is the main message? Why was it created and how exactly? And why are there so many “bad” messages in the Quran\Hadith and what are their context (ex: Hadith Volume 4, Book 52, Number 177)? And what exactly is the Hadith anyways? ”

so many ideology opening human thought,
when the ideology used making human behavior we always mock or false it.
but one thing that we have to know that “Is the Ideology near or relate to GOD?”

I don’t think so
coz The Ideology is made by human
and it will be break and not stand along way (contemporary)

but Allah has ideology for human being, do you know what is it?

As far as I know by reading some famous caliphates, Islam expanded by way of some conquests over other nations. Please open and read the history of Islam that may be easy of access, for example at Wikipedia.
Expansion of Islam by way of trading among nations is especially known for spreading of the faith of Islam to the region of Indonesian archipelago and surroundings.
Nevertheless, the expansion of Islam in Indonesia also involved some conquest. For example, a conquest by Islam Cirebon ruler, Sjarif Hidayatullah, over Hindu Sunda Kingdom.
My point is, let’s face the real history as it is. In my opinion, there is nothing necessarily to hide the truth, as it is important for the young generation to learn all about the truth.
